The Pasadena Art Show is produced by artist, author, and local impresario Lynn Chang. The talented and multi-faceted Chang has enlisted Laemmle Theatres and specifically its “Art in the Arthouse” program to act as venue and host for the now annual exhibit.

Art in the Arthouse arose in early 2014 at the behest of Laemmle president Greg Laemmle. Seeing how the advent of digital movie posters opened up previously-used real estate on his theater walls (where printed posters once roamed), Laemmle seized the opportunity to engage the fine arts community and bring quality works to the movie-going public.

With visionary input from curator Joshua Elias, Art in the Arthouse has bridged the worlds of fine art and fine cinema through over 20 exhibits, featuring mostly local and emerging talent.

The Pasadena Art Show’s alliance with Laemmle and Art in the Arthouse gives our artist-participants the ability to showcase their work and perspective to a discriminating, culturally-literate audience within a unique context and space … one that is decidedly more trafficked than a typical gallery. It’s a rare opportunity, to say the least.

Nancy’s Art at the Show

Painting "Girl with a Pearl Cell Phone" by Nancy R. WiseNancy’s Girl with a Pearl Cellphone was juried into the show! We are thrilled to be a part of it.

Part of the “Art in the Arthouse” experience is that, for opening night, a looping Slide Show will be displayed inside the theatre. Nancy’s and other participating artists’ work will be projected on the big screen in a looping reel. And, in the presentation, the curator, Joshua Elias will speak to each piece and why it was selected.

This is very unique to the Pasadena Art Show and, if you’re interested in seeing a broad overview of Nancy’s work, we strongly suggest to come to the opening.
