50 Painting Retrospective in Poway, California (San Diego)

 

Sometimes it rains and sometimes it pours. This December is an art downpour. Each year we expect to be in the Context show in Miami. Then, not too long ago, we got accepted into a second December show! Every year the Poway Center for the Performing Arts hosts regional artists in their beautiful facility for a month at a time and we were accepted for December. There is a bit of an interesting back story here. We showed in Poway in December 2017. Apparently they send out calls for art submissions every year but we never saw another email from them…until a few months ago when an email magically appeared on the day after the final day for submission. Well, we got right on the phone and left vmails and when they finally called back they said they would accept our submission. We submitted and were accepted. It is a large facility with a lot of wall space so we decided to do a retrospective. This Monday we are loading up a truck with 50(!) of my paintings and driving them down. By the 30th the show will be up and running (ending December 26th). There are free viewing days Thursday, Friday and Saturday BUT it is a wonderful performing arts center and if you were so inclined it would be fun to take in a show too.
